Running an architecture firm that deals with castles and heritage buildings means we handle a lot of info. Your sketches, site photos, renovation dreams - it all matters. This document's here to tell you exactly what we do with your data, 'cause honestly, you deserve to know.
When you reach out about building that Gothic revival home or restoring your family's old stone chapel, we'll gather:
We're not complicated folks. Your information helps us design better medieval-inspired spaces and keep you updated. Specifically:
We use your contact details to answer questions, send proposals, and keep the project moving. Property info lets us create designs that actually work for your site - can't design a castle keep without knowing the land contours, right? Photos and documents you send get stored in our secure project files. Payment information? That goes through encrypted channels and we don't keep full card numbers lying around.
Sometimes we'll email about new restoration techniques or sustainable stone construction methods we've discovered, but you can opt out anytime.
We don't sell or rent your info - that's not how we operate. But there are times when others need access:
Our structural engineers and contractors might see project details when they're working on your build. Legal folks occasionally need documentation for permits and zoning approvals. Cloud storage providers host our encrypted files (we use reputable Canadian services when possible). Accounting software handles invoicing, but they're bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
If there's ever a legal requirement to share info, we'll let you know unless we're legally prevented from doing so.
We take security seriously - like castle walls serious. Our digital systems use encryption, password protection, and regular backups. Physical documents get locked up at our Granville Street office. Only team members who actually need access to your project files can see them.
That said, no system's 100% foolproof. We do everything reasonable to protect your data, but can't guarantee absolute security. It's just being honest.
Our website uses some basic cookies to remember your preferences and see which pages folks visit most. Nothing creepy - we're not tracking your every move. You can disable cookies in your browser if that's your preference, though some features might not work as smoothly.
We use analytics to understand how people use the site, which helps us improve it. All data's anonymized.
Under Canadian privacy laws (we follow PIPEDA), you've got rights:
Just shoot us an email at info@kingdomriftforge.info or call (604) 285-7493 and we'll help you out.
Active project files stay with us during the work and for seven years after completion - that's standard for architecture firms and helps if you need future renovations or have warranty questions. Marketing contact info stays until you ask us to remove it. After retention periods end, we securely delete or destroy the information.
We might update this privacy policy occasionally as our practice evolves or laws change. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and notify active clients if the changes are significant. Worth checking back now and then.
If something in here doesn't make sense or you've got concerns about how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We're real people running a small firm in Vancouver, and we're happy to talk through any privacy stuff.
